From The Desk of Executive President...
Hey everyone! My name is Eric Osterhus and I will be your SGA Executive President this year. I am a Senior and have been a part of SGA for the past 3 years. I am also a Wingate Student Affairs Ambassador as well as Vice-President of Kappa Alpha Order. I am very excited to be serving you as President this year. We have an awesome group of people on our new Executive Board and I know that they will all do great things in their individual positions. As an Executive Board, we came up with a central theme for the year: "It pays to Discover." What led us to this is our desire to see all Wingate students get engaged around our campus in student organizations which appeal to them. We have a wide variety for students to chose from, and we hope that over the next year, each member of our student body will make every effort to become a part of the ones which they best identify with. If you have any questions throughout the year, please feel free to contact me via email or whenever you see me around campus. I would be more than happy to help you out in any way I can. We are all very excited for what the upcoming year holds!

Hey everyone, my name is Lee Winchester and I will be serving as the Director of Campus life this year. So far at Wingate I have served as the Freshmen Class President and I’m also a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. I’m looking forward to a fun and interesting year. I plan to continue working on the campus lake project by coming up with fun, collective ideas to make our lake more appealing to students. I know I’ve got some ideas of my own but if anyone has something they would like to see done around campus, please do not hesitate to email me or just approach me anytime if you see me around. I’m positive that this year’s exec board will do a fabulous job serving the students and I’m thrilled about this upcoming year at Wingate!

My name is Emma and this year I will be a sophomore, which is pretty exciting because that means I am one year closer in graduating. This year will be a super year! I am a peer mentor, leadership fellow, and satiation for the Bulldogs in many different sports, a group fitness instructor, and of course the SGA Leadership Development chair. As you can tell I’m pretty busy but that’s the way that I like it . In SGA this year I personally want to accomplish two things and they are: 1) I want the students and the Student organizations to view SGA not just as the club that deals out all the money but a voice for the students and let the students know that they have a voice and it should be heard. 2) That all Bulldogs are the same. Meaning that regardless if a student is a leader in a club or just a member they are all the same and that every student here at Wingate gets treated the same. And that SGA will help make that a true fact.

Hi, my name is Megan Wood. This will be my second year at Wingate. I am from Danville, VA. My major is Communications and I plan to have an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in English. I am extremely involved around campus, including writing for the Weekly Triangle, reporting for Wingate Trax, a Leadership Fellow, and Housing Assistant in Residence Life but I am unbelievably excited to be working on the SGA Executive Board as Public Relations Chair for the 2008-2009 school year. Our plans for the upcoming year will be to not only follow the footsteps of the preceding Executive Board but create a path of our own. With events such as orientation and homecoming we will work hard to get students involved on campus. As public relations chair, my vision will be to heighten awareness of campus activities, with innovative ideas and creative ways to promote these events. Through the committee’s hard work, I hope our efforts will strengthen student involvement to create a sense of community as well as a love for Wingate University that I have acquired.
