STUDENT GOVERNMENT

Honor Council

The Honor Council has the purpose of upholding the honor code and the code of community standards. It creates an environment grounded in ethical behavior.  The Honor Council consists of three representatives from the sophomore, junior, and senior classes; along with two members of the faculty and staff – people committed to the principles of the Wingate University honor code.  Meetings of the Honor Council are not based upon courtroom proceedings but are meant to educate students in matters of honorable behavior.  The Honor Council seeks fairness and equity when rendering an outcome.  All incidents and outcomes remain confidential; no Council member is to speak of the incidents or outcomes outside of the meetings.  The Honor Council is a way to uphold the foundation of honor that Wingate University was built upon.
