100 Years of Broadway comes to Wingate University

Wingate, N.C. – Neil Berg’s widely acclaimed 100 Years of Broadway, a musical review of Broadway’s most celebrated shows, is coming to the Batte Fine Arts Center at Wingate University on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The show features five Broadway stars accompanied by an all-star New York band. Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway is the most successful touring Broadway concert in North America. Touring to over 60 cities a year, the show captures the greatest moments from the finest shows of the century. It features the actual stars of shows such as The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, CATS, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Jekyll & Hyde. The performers light up the stage with songs from the hit shows in which they starred. Neil Berg presents brilliantly revived arrangements of Broadway classics as well as thrilling numbers from Broadway’s newest hit shows.

Along with musical director and pianist Neil Berg, the Batte Center production will feature Chuck Wagner (Les Miserables, Into the Woods, Beauty and the Beast), Sandra Joseph (Phantom of the Opera), Carter Calvert (It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues, Cats), Ron Bomer (Ragtime, Phantom of the Opera., Les Miserables), and Ted Louis Levy (Jelly’s Last Jam, Black and Blue, Bring in Da Funk).

Opened in 1999 on the Wingate University campus, the George A. Batte, Jr. Fine Arts Center presents events in the McGee Theatre, Plyer - Griffin Recital Hall and Austin Auditorium. Located 30 miles east of Charlotte and just five minutes from Monroe, The Batte is just two blocks off of Highway 74. Free parking is plentiful and all three performance spaces offer full wheelchair accessibility.
