Chris Justice to give Baccalaureate Address

Wingate, N.C.- Rev. Chris Justice, senior pastor at Lee Park Baptist Church, will speak to Wingate University graduation candidates, family, friends and guests at the Baccalaureate Ceremony on Thursday, April 22 at 9:30 a.m., in the the George A. Batte, Jr. Fine Arts Center.

Rev. Justice earned his Bachelor of Science degree in communications from the University of Rio Grande, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He has also earned a Master of Arts and Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

Prior to his position as senior pastor, Justice worked in the media for 20 years eventually becoming an anchor for WCNC-TV. He has been the senior pastor at Lee Park Baptist Church for four years and in 2008 he became a full time pastor. Justice is also very active in the Special Olympics and has hosted the Chris Justice Golf Classic for several years.

The Baccalaureate Ceremony is open to the public. Commencement exercises will be held on Saturday, May 8 at 9 a.m. in the academic quadrangle.

Founded in 1896, Wingate University is a private four-year co-educational institution of 2,159 students offering active learning opportunities through personalized instruction, world travel, career discovery, and community service.

Wingate offers 34 undergraduate majors in arts and sciences, business, communication, education, fine arts, music and sport sciences. It also offers graduate degrees in accounting, business, education, physician assistant studies and sport administration. In addition, the school awards the Doctor of Pharmacy and the Doctor of Education degrees.

Bulldog student-athletes compete in 19 NCAA Division II sports. Wingate University has won the South Atlantic Conference Echols Athletic Excellence Award for the past three years.
