Denver resident wins BB&T scholarship

Wingate, N.C. – Wingate University student, Mary Parsons, is a recipient of a BB&T Scholarship, which was distributed by North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU). BB&T Scholarships totaling $60,000 have been distributed at various private colleges and universities in the state. These scholarships are awarded by the institution on the basis of the students’ academic achievement and financial need.

Parsons is a junior majoring in pre-pharmacy. She is a resident of Denver, N.C.

Jack Frost, Senior Vice President of Capital Markets at BB&T and Chairman of the Board for the Independent College Fund of North Carolina, expressed that "BB&T is delighted to support North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities and its scholarship program. NCICU and BB&T are very aligned in our support of education, and we're glad to assist these students in achieving their goals. It's part of our mission, making all of our communities better places to live."
