Turtle Island String Quartet to perform at Wingate University

Wingate, N.C. – Turtle Island String Quartet will perform at Wingate University on Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the George A. Batte, Jr. Fine Arts Center on campus.

The Quartet’s styles include folk, bluegrass, swing, be-bop, funk, R&B, new age, rock and hip-hop, as well as music of Latin America and India. A special portion of their performance at Wingate University includes “A Love Supreme – The Legacy of John Coltrane,” for which they received a Grammy Award for Best Classical Crossover Album in 2008.
