Wingate offers Master of Accounting degree

Wingate, NC – The Wingate University School of Business is planning to offer a Master of Accounting degree on its main campus for current students interested in becoming licensed certified public accountants. Wingate will be one of the few small private universities in the nation to offer such a program.

The fifth-year master's degree is designed so accounting majors can complete the degree in one year and students with no accounting background can complete the degree in two years.

Joseph M. Graham, dean of the Wingate University School of Business, said employment prospects are good for those holding the master's degree. "The job outlook for accountants remains strong with the CPA remaining the premier credential in this field."
Wingate University will offer the program in the fall of 2010.

Founded in 1896, Wingate University is a private four-year co-educational institution of 2,159 students offering active learning opportunities through personalized instruction, world travel, career discovery, and community service.
