Wingate University Office of Service collects items for Haiti

Wingate, NC – Wingate University’s Office of Service is collecting items needed to make hygiene and baby kits for the people of Haiti. Complete kits or donations of items for the kits are being collected.

Items needed for each hygiene kit include: one hand towel (size 16” X 28 “), one washcloth, one wide-tooth comb, one nail clipper (no metal files or emery boards), one bar of soap in wrapper, one toothbrush (no toothpaste) and six band-aids®. Seal all items in a one-gallon plastic bag with a zipper closure.

Baby kit items include: six cloth diapers, two T-shirts or undershirts (no onesies), two washcloths, two gowns or sleepers, two diaper pins, one sweater or sweatshirt and two receiving blankets (one can be hand-knitted or crocheted). All items should be new. Wrap items inside one of the receiving blankets and secure with both diaper pins.
