Wingate, N.C. -- Wingate University School of Pharmacy recently saw the largest turnout ever for its annual Clinical Skills Competition.

Sixteen student teams competed for the opportunity to represent the School of Pharmacy in the upcoming national competition. Each team presented a patient case, including their clinical findings and medication therapy recommendations, to a panel of faculty judges to determine the local winner. Fourth-year pharmacy students Erin McGraw of Ashland, Va. and Megan Ducker of Asheville, N.C. received top honors and are headed to nationals Dec. 2-3 in Anaheim, Cal. The school placed in the top ten nationwide at this event two years ago.

The event is sponsored by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
