Wingate University selects Marshville resident for third term on Board of Trustees

Marshville, N.C. – Elona Edwards, of Marshville, N.C., has been appointed to a third term on the Wingate University Board of Trustees. She will serve a four-year term. This is the second year she will serve as assistant secretary of the Board. Edwards also serves on the executive committee.

Some of her other volunteer work includes serving on the Board of The Arc of Union County, where she continues to hold an honorary position. She has served on the Board of HeathQuest of Union County, nonprofit pharmacy serving area counties. At her church, Union Grove Baptist Church, Edwards teaches Sunday School, plays the organ, organizes Loaves and Fishes ministry and currently serves on the pastor search committee.

The Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the University with responsibilities to include setting policy. Thirty-six trustees serve on the board, with an additional 12 lifetime members.
