Wingate University Singers and Chamber Choir perform 2012 Tour back home

Wingate, NC – The Wingate University Singers and Chamber Choir will perform a home concert as the final performance of their winter concert 2012. The free performance will be on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. in McGee Theatre of the Batte Center on campus. The concert will include a wide array of choral music including works by Byrd, Brahms and Lauridsen, as well as music from South Africa.

The choral group has performed throughout North Carolina during the month of February. “Through regional concert tours, local and statewide engagements, the Wingate University Choirs are rapidly gaining recognition for excellence throughout the southeastern United States,” said Kenney Potter, director of choral activities and music education at Wingate University. “In May 2012, the choirs will travel to the Baltic countries of Estonia and Latvia.”
