Wingate University welcomes world renowned opera composer, Carlisle Floyd and tenor, Anthony Dean Griffey

Wingate, N.C. –Wingate University’s music department presents An Evening of Opera Scenes with special guests Carlisle Floyd and Anthony Dean Griffey on Friday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in McGee Theater on campus. Carlisle Floyd is one of the most prolific American opera composers and his works are performed all over the world. Winner of the Guggenheim Fellowship and the National Medal of Arts, he is also a lifetime member in the National Endowment of the Arts. Anthony Dean Griffey, a 1990 Wingate alumnus, is a four-time Grammy award winning opera tenor. Floyd and Griffey will be in residency from April 15-19 to work with the students.
