Wingate University’s School of Pharmacy to help at Anson County community event

Wingate, N.C. –Wingate University’s School of Pharmacy students will participate in a community parking lot health care event on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Wadesboro, N.C. Wingate student pharmacists representing the Student National Pharmaceutical Association and the Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International along with Wingate School of Pharmacy faculty will be collaborating with the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church's outreach team, Walgreens, and NC MedAssist in providing healthcare services, basic needs and faith to indigent residents in Anson County.
Healthcare services provided by these student pharmacists and faculty include blood pressure and blood glucose screening, health education for HIV/AIDs, flu prevention, hypertension and diabetes.

Other services provided at no cost include flu vaccinations by a Walgreens pharmacist, clothes donation, lunch and increasing awareness for NC MedAssist, a not for profit pharmacy located in Charlotte, N.C. that provides free medications to qualified patients.
