As vice-president of the Charlotte chapter of The Society Of Professional Journalists, he has the opportunity to work with many different people. “It's a great honor to have this responsibility for the Charlotte chapter,” Cannon said. “Its a very important role to play within this organization.” The program is two years old and offers networking and professional development for journalism. Members meet each month to discuss new developments in the field of journalism. Occasionally, guest speakers make an appearance during these meetings. Courses in digital journalism were added last year because more people are going online in creating new ways to tell stories.
