For students choosing to major in biological sciences, the future
has never been brighter. The prospects for productive and satisfying
careers in biology, environmental biology, and the health sciences
are great, and should continue to increase as more scientific and
technologic discoveries are made. From field work in ecology and
environmental biology to biotechnology and molecular genetics,
advances are being made at an ever-accelerating rate. Biology is,
and will continue to be, a promising discipline in which to study
and work.

numerous and exciting. Whether it be graduate studies for master's
or doctoral degrees, or professional schools in medicine, dentistry,
veterinary medicine, or other health-related fields, a degree from
the Biology Department can lead to many exciting and rewarding
opportunities.
Attention High School Students!
Reproductive Biology Summer Science Program
Offered
Interested in
veterinary or human medicine, animal science and production? Wingate
University and North Carolina State University will offer a free
12-day program in reproductive biology for high school students June
16-27 on the main campus. The camp is open to upcoming juniors and
seniors who are North Carolina residents. Students must have
completed Biology I.
The program is
sponsored by the Burroughs Wellcome Fund’s Student Science
Enrichment Program and selected participants will receive free
tuition, housing and meals.
The deadline for applications is
May 16 (postmarked).
