Studying finance means studying how to evaluate new
investments in plant and equipment and how firms raise funds in bond
and stock markets to purchase new plant and equipment. Finance
involves learning about the stock market and bond market. It is also
the study of financial companies like banks, mutual funds and
insurance companies. The study of finance involves understanding
interest rates and rates of return on investments.
The Wingate School of Business offers a bachelor's degree in
finance. The School of Business has a quality finance program that
involves students in using financial techniques and developing finance skills. Our program
integrates finance with economics and accounting to develop skills
and techniques that
employers value. Wingate is located within driving distance of
Charlotte, NC,
which is the second-largest banking center in the United States.

opportunities for business graduates with an emphasis in finance.

Curriculum
Note: General Education Requirements including B.A. or
B.S. requirements - 51-53 credit hours (must include Math 117 or
120, Economics 221, and Religion 482). Please see the Wingate
University Academic Catalog for details. A total of 125 credit
hours and an exit examination in the major with a passing grade are
required for graduation.

- Finance 418 (Corporate Finance)
- Finance 420 (International Finance)
- Two courses selected from any 300 or 400 level course in the
School of Business (6 credits)
