A career in marketing can be very rewarding for several
reasons. First, the salary potentials in marketing for your first
full-time job after graduation are very good, as are your career
growth possibilities. Second, there is the diversity of career paths
open to marketing graduates. Careers in marketing cover a range of
creative and technical areas from consumer to high-tech and
industrial products and services, in small or large companies, in
product management, sales, research, advertising, public relations,
purchasing and distribution management. Your responsibilities will
be a challenge from your first
day and your contributions can be an important part of the
organization's
success.
As you do your marketing education at Wingate University, you
will learn how to strategically apply the marketing concept and to
develop a product focus that is unique to Wingate University
graduates. In addition, the program involves you in hands-on,
buyer-seller problem solving and real-life situations from actual
companies that need real-time responses.
Wingate University's marketing faculty brings a combination of
diverse backgrounds, experiences and areas of interest to the
classroom. From a broad based educational background to a wide
real-world business background, Wingate's marketing faculty expose
students to the best in 21st century marketing theory and
applications.
With Wingate's special combination of faculty, classroom
involvement, project work, case studies and hands-on applications
through internships and in-class company participation, you will be
well prepared to help your company move forward successfully.
Students may elect to earn a BA or a BS in marketing with
different course requirements. More artistically or verbally
oriented students should elect the BA program with electives drawn
from literature and foreign languages. More quantitative students
should consider the BS track in which electives are drawn from the
areas of math and science.

Curriculum
Note: General Education Requirements including B.A. or
B.S. requirements - 51-53 credit hours (must include Math 117 or
120, Economics 221, and Religion 482). Please see the Wingate
University Academic Catalog for details. A total of 125 credit
hours and an exit examination in the major with a passing grade are
required for graduation.

and Marketing 411 (Special Topics in Marketing) (6 credit hours)
Marketing
majors are encouraged to consider a minor in management,
international studies, public relations,
finance, or another
complimentary area.
Requirements for the minor in marketing (18 credit hours):
