The Department of History at Wingate University draws its strength
from a commitment to world awareness. In addition to taking a
foreign language through the intermediate level, students are
required to take history courses in three distinctive areas:
- U.S. History
- European History
- World History
The History Department prides itself on small classes with
intensive writing and speaking experiences. These opportunities
prepare students with the critical reading, writing and analytical
skills that give them the confidence and self-assurance to succeed.
Strengthened through an understanding of human history, which
broadens the sympathies and fortifies the will, our students have
the skills and confidence necessary to live out the Wingate
University motto: Faith, Knowledge and Service.
