Faculty: Dr. Mark Schuhl

Mark W. Schuhl (Camden, New Jersey) earned his B.A. in Spanish from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as his M.A. and Ph.D. in Romance Languages. He also studied at the Universities of Salamanca and Seville. His specialization is 19th and 20th centuries Argentine literature, particularly the genre of the essay.

Before joining the Department of Modern Languages at Wingate in 2000, he taught at Fort Hays State University. He has also taught during the summer in Alicante, Spain, and directed a study-abroad program in Guadalajara, Mexico with FHSU. He will be the director for the 2007 Wingate-in-London program. He has published articles and made numerous presentations on Argentine literature, and is currently working on a book-length manuscript, "Constructing Culture: The Argentine Essay of Self-Definition."
