-
Professors nominate motivated and engaged freshmen students for the
program after having them in classes for a semester. Or students
may self-nominate by Feb. 1 of their freshman year.
-
Students begin taking honors courses the first semester of
their sophomore year after they have fully adapted to college
life.
-
For
their honors curriculum, students may choose from a
"traditional" track, including humanities and interdisciplinary
courses, plus limited math and science options, a biology track
or a chemistry track.
-
Every student will do a research thesis or project as a capstone
for his/her field of study and will present that research at
Wingate's undergraduate research symposium.
-
Students will be encouraged to apply for a summer research
grant, to be mentored by a professor and/or to present their
research at discipline-specific regional or national
conferences.
