Favorite International trip?
It is hard to choose a favorite international trip because every place I have visited is different  I have been to Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland, and now Spain and have enjoyed each one.

Why I love to travel...
I love to travel because I love seeing new things and learning about different cultures and their histories.  Studying abroad has strengthened my patience and broadened my horizons.  It is as challenging as it is exciting.  Each day I learn more about myself and different people from around the world.  Any one who has the opportunity to study abroad, I advise them to take the chance and look forward to an adventure.

Settling in

Hi everyone!

These first few weeks have been confusing and exciting.  I have to admit I have been getting homesick, but Spain is an amazing place.

I have moved into the residencia. My roommates are all very nice but are all studying for finals so I find myself spending most of my time with the other exchange students.  We have all been going through the same ups and downs.  One moment we love Spain the next minute we are ready to leave.  Some changes are difficult to adjust to, such a new living situation and cultural differences, but they are by far outweighed by the good experiences.

The city of Alcalá is small for a city but big compared to my home town.  The streets are full of small shops and cafes.  My favorite thing about Spain so far is the coffee. Every morning I can depend on my 1 euro café con leche.  But watch out, if you sit at a table instead of at the bar that is an extra 15 centavos.

I have two classes on Monday and Wednesday and three classes on Tuesday and Thursday.  We have Fridays off! Another good thing about Spain.  It is hard to get studying done with school shopping, grocery shopping, coffee, siestas, and exploring to be done.  I am taking Grammar, Phonetics (funetics as Dr. Schuhl likes to call it :o), Contemporary Spain, Contemporary Spanish Literature, and Translation.  The third week of classes is almost over and I am just beginning to get into the swing of things.
