Student Rights - Educational Records and Information

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, commonly known as the Buckley Amendment or FERPA, was passed and put into effect in January 1975. The law regulates the use and disclosure of personal information in educational records and permits a student to know what material is maintained in those records.  A copy of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 is on file in the Dean of Students office in the Dickson-Palmer Center.
