HELPING MEET ACADEMIC GOALS

The Wingate University Academic Resource Center (ARC) is dedicated to helping students meet their academic goals. Within the ARC, students will find the offices of Academic Advising, the Wingate 101 program, disability services and the tutoring program. Students are encouraged to make use of the many services available through the ARC, which is located on the 2nd floor of the Ethel K. Smith Library. The ARC staff includes:

Ms. Baucom coordinates the day-to-day operation of the ARC. Students will find many of their questions about academic support services can be answered by Ms. Baucom. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Dr. Murray coordinates the assignment of students to an academic advisor in their field of study. Students declaring or changing majors do so through this office. Wingate 101, a one-hour course required of all first year students, is an integral part of academic advising.
Ms. Linda Stedje-Larsen directs the area of academic support services which includes disability services and peer tutoring. Working within the framework of a coordinated campus effort to support the development of students, assistance is offered to all enrolled students for tutoring and learning skills enhancement. Additionally, services for students with disabilities are coordinated through this office.
