WHAT IS THE PEER TUTORING PROGRAM?
The Tutoring Program, part of the Academic Resource Center (ARC), was established as a support service for undergraduate students in the mid 1980s. It is nationally certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) at Levels I, II and III. The service is FREE and easy to access. Qualified tutors are listed in a web-based scheduling program and students simply schedule appointments via the on-line system or come to the ARC for assistance in making appointments.
Who are the tutors?
Tutors are other Wingate University students who have been successful in their courses and recommended by their professors. From the perspective of students who have "been there, done that," they help their fellow students understand course content and refine learning skills.
