John Blizzard, baritone, has sung in opera, oratorio, recital, and concert performances throughout the South, Midwest, and Southwestern United States and Brazil. Dr. Blizzard is in his 25th year on the faculty of Wingate University, where, as Professor of Voice/Artist-in-Residence, he teaches voice, diction, and voice pedagogy.
Dr. Blizzard is a graduate of Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, where he earned both the Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees, Florida State University (Bachelor of Music, cum laude, voice performance), and Pensacola Junior College (music, business).
As an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, he most recently served as governor of the Mid-Atlantic Region, covering the Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. John has served in a variety of church and synagogue positions in Florida, Texas, and North Carolina, and is also a Life Member of the American Choral Directors Association. He may be heard here.
