The mission of the Porter B. Byrum School of Business is to deliver nationally accredited bachelors and masters degree programs in business. In addition, the Porter B. Byrum School of Business seeks to encourage students to pursue academic and professional excellence while providing opportunities for engagement with ethical issues, involvement with cultural events and encountering of a global perspective.

A major in management, more specifically, will prepare you for the broad spectrum of responsibilities associated with the managerial process. Management at Wingate is a comprehensive business program offering courses that specialize in a variety of management areas. Human resource management, organizational behavior, management information systems, production and operations management and strategic management are covered in the management curriculum.

As a management major, you will examine the foundations of contemporary management theory, develop skills to convert the theory into practice and prepare to manage change effectively throughout your future business career. Depending on the type of management career you wish to pursue, employment rates and job offerings differ greatly among the varying fields (http://www.bls.gov/oco/oco1001.htm).
