Why you came to Wingate: I hear wonderful things about the music program and how students are treated as individuals rather than as numbers.
Why you chose your major: I chose music because music is what I love and I am passionate about it. I want to be able to share the gift of music with others for the rest of my life.
Fun fact: Senior year, I played golf on my high school’s team.

Why you came to Wingate: When I came to visit Wingate, I felt as though I was wanted. As I was walking around campus, I felt at home.
Fun fact: I swam competitively in high school.
Favorite aspect of choir/Wingate: The people here are so welcoming and open. The choir feels like my family.

 Why you came to Wingate: The atmosphere on campus is so welcoming and warm. The music department is an exceptional program with extremely talented staff and professors.
Fun fact: I don't like to eat meat.
Favorite aspect of choir: Every member of the choir plays and equally important role. We are a very close family.

Why you came to Wingate: I fell in love with the music department. It felt like home.
Why you chose your major: I have known that I wanted to be a chorus teacher since I was in the seventh grade. I feel it is what I am called to do.

Why you came to Wingate: When I auditioned here, I instantly loved the campus and the professors were so nice and attentive. The Scholarship I received was better than any other school had to offer.
Why you chose your major: I chose music education because it fit what I am most passionate about in life. My passions are music and children, so I can’t think of a better career than teaching children music.
Fun fact: I have worked as a counselor at an outdoor Christian Ministries Camp for the past six years. It’s one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

Why you came to Wingate: The students and faculty were more than welcoming and had a sense of family. The campus was beautiful and the staff made me feel like a person rather than a number or a GPA. This is home.
Fun fact: I was a figure-skater for eight years.
Favorite aspect of choir: The choir at Wingate really is a family. We all care so much about each other. I have made friendships that will last me a lifetime, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

Why you came to Wingate: I came to Wingate for the music program and my music teacher talked so highly of Dr. Potter. It just felt like home.
Fun fact: I love to try and learn new things. I’m really good at making things. I’m very artistic.

Fun fact: I like to paint and do math in my free time.
 Favorite aspect of choir: We’re all a family and I can talk to anyone in my choir about anything.

Why you joined choir: I love singing and I considered being a music major when I first came to the school. I chose another education direction, but I still had a passion and need to sing and be involved with such an amazing choral program.
One interesting or fun fact about yourself: I can identify all North Carolina snakes.
Favorite aspect of choir: The feel of a family and working together with my peers towards musical experience. Choir is my stress relief every day. 

Fun fact: I absolutely love cheese and I love to cook.
Favorite aspect of choir: The size of the choir is perfect. It’s not so big where
you feel unneeded, but it’s also not so small that you feel pressured or uncomfortable.

Why you came to Wingate: When I walked on campus I just felt like I was meant to be here and I got a scholarship.
Fun fact: I live on a dairy farm and show cows.

Why you came to Wingate: I fell in love with the campus and the prestigious music department.
Why you chose your major: Music is my passion and I am aspiring to be a music therapist.

 Why you came to Wingate: I love the family feel of Wingate. I like how it is small and it’s a very beautiful campus.
Fun fact: I was on American Idol when I was 16.
Favorite aspect of choir: The friendships that are created, and the feelings shared through music.

Fun fact: I traveled out of the country for the first time this year, to Spain and Morocco.
Favorite aspect of choir: This choir has become my home, and in this home is my family. Being so close to the people I sing with helps us create incredible music. Only a connection like that makes that level of musicality possible.

Fun fact: I may be completely obsessed with the show “Friends”. I know almost every line to every episode. It’s a bit scary.
Favorite aspect of choir: I enjoy the fact that the music department is growing, yet it is still like a family. It will be difficult when I graduate and won’t be able to sing with this choir every day.

Fun fact: I have an infectious laugh. I even won best laugh in high school.

 Why you joined choir: Aside from my relationship with God, music is the biggest passion in my life. The music faculty and students are so dedicated to making music, and I knew that being in choir would greatly benefit me as a musician.
Favorite aspect of choir: My favorite aspect of choir is all of the opportunities that come our way, such as singing for events in and outside at our school and traveling places such as Estonia and South Africa.

Why you chose a major in music: Music has been my life and I cannot see myself in any other field. I want others to experience the passion I have for music.
Favorite aspect of choir: My favorite aspect is being able to sing beautiful repertoire with people I can call my best friends and my family.

Why you came to Wingate: I came to Wingate because of the wonderful music department. To me this department is top notch!
Favorite aspect of choir: Choir is a time of different perspectives, people, and opinions that come together as I and others make unified beautiful music.

Why you came to Wingate: I came to Wingate because it is small and personable. It just felt like home, and everyone at the University is always willing to lend a helping hand.
Fun fact: I am the vice president of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and I have burning passion for our Philanthropy PUSH America.
Favorite aspect of choir: My favorite aspect of choir is that it’s the one class that I can express feelings through the music. Choir is my stress reliever of the day and a great way just to let loose and be care free.

Why you chose your major: I love music and I love performing onstage.
Fun fact: I love writing as much as I love singing.

Why you chose a major in music: When music is your passion and gives you all your drive, you can’t not be a music major. It’s what I love.
Fun fact: Spent my senior year working with elementary school children and loved it.
Favorite aspect of choir: You learn so much from being around other performers. You just take all the constant music-fueled energy.

Why you came to Wingate: I chose Wingate to get a one-on-one experience with my professors and the music program.
Fun fact: I taught myself to play piano and I collect records for the Harlem Renaissance.
Favorite aspect of choir: I love how our choirs have the ability to become ‘performance-ready’ in only a month. Also, the level of talent is amazing.

Why you came to Wingate: Scholarship opportunities.
Favorite aspect of choir: The numerous opportunities to perform, whether solo or ensemble.

Why you came to Wingate: I came to Wingate because I received a large scholarship, the music program is fantastic, and Dr. Potter is a great person to work with.
Fun fact: I am originally from India and moved here about four years ago. 
Favorite aspect of choir: Everyone knows each other so well. Because of this, we can listen well together and enhance our sound.

Why you came to Wingate: I fell in love with the campus after my first visit and felt very welcomed by the choir.
Fun fact: I play rugby and used to play soccer before that.

Why you came to Wingate: I came to Wingate, because it matched a few criteria. Great music program, nice campus and family feel.
Fun fact: I am a serious Miami Heat fan. My favorite player is Dwayne “The Flash” Wade.”
Favorite aspect of choir: My favorite aspect has to be the bond that you feel just from singing with each other. You feel a bond of trust, due to a song needs everyone focused on one goal to make it work.

Why you came to Wingate: Because of the music scholarship I was offered and my choir teacher’s advice.
Fun fact: I have been skateboarding for eleven years.

Why you chose Wingate: I chose Wingate because of the phenomenal music program that is growing more and more each year.
Fun fact: I enjoy running.

Why you chose a major in music: Close family feeling I got from the choir.
Fun fact: I am a twin.
Favorite aspect of choir and/or Wingate: I love how close we are and the fact that Wingate is far from a lot of distractions, builds a closeness to the campus and people.

Why you came to Wingate: The music program seemed really amazing and the students and faculty seemed extremely friendly and helpful.
Fun fact: I have sung in choir since I was five. I have sung every part as high as soprano I and as low as bass II. I now sing bass II at Wingate.

Why you came to Wingate: I chose Wingate because of the reputation of the music department, the conversations I had with Dr. Potter before auditioning, and the recommendation of the choral directors of my county.
Why you chose a major in music: Music has been my passion for many years. While I could have chosen other majors, I feel called by God to use music in my life. I ultimately would love to teach music in church or in the classroom.

Why you chose a major in music: Music has made a tremendous impact on me, and some of the biggest role models in my life have been my music teachers. I want to inspire students in the same way my teachers inspired me.
Favorite aspect of choir and/or Wingate: Not only am I surrounded by incredibly talented people, but I enjoy the relationships that are developed by such humble people.

Why you came to Wingate: I was highly attracted to the choral program and knew that Wingate was the place for me after hearing the choir only once.
Fun fact: I had a ‘buzz-cut’ hairstyle from the time I was five years of age until I reached the seventh grade.
Favorite aspect of choir/Wingate: I love the close-knit community feel that Wingate has. I think that is a unique characteristic that is often lost at much larger schools. As for choir and the music department, I love how we are all one big, happy family.
