Have you ever thought about how you can help Wingate University in a
way that’s meaningful and effective? There are so many ways you can
give back, regardless of your location or your income.
The Office of Alumni Development assembled this list of ways you can
help to provide options and suggestions for alumni, parents and
friends. Using your time, experience and resources, you can help
advance the mission of Wingate University.
Many of these suggestions require very little time or effort but may
bring about tremendous benefit to students. You can make a
difference right now!
1. Make your annual gift to Wingate University by
clicking here.
Every gift, regardless of the amount, helps Wingate students.
2. Hire Wingate students and graduates in your organization.
3. Help recruit future Bulldogs, encourage prospective students to
visit campus or bring them yourself!
4. Keep updated about what’s going on at WU by reading your e-news,
Wingate Today magazine, checking out our website:
www.wingate.edu and sharing it
with others.
5. Support Bulldog athletics! Attend games and cheer loudly. Join
the
Bulldog Club and
enjoy the membership benefits or make a gift to our Athletic
Foundation and support scholarships for student-athletes.
6. Mentor or provide internship and networking opportunities for
current students by becoming involved with the
Office of Career
Services and Internships.
7. Update your address information, email address, occupational
information or personal news through
Class Notes by visiting the
alumni website or calling (704) 233-8120.
8. Always tell others of your memories and love for Wingate.
9. Visit campus – there is always some type of special event going
on.
10. Display your WU paraphernalia and wear Bulldog attire! If you
need some, visit our
bookstore.
11. Check out our wonderful
performing arts series and cultural events at the
George A. Batte, Jr. Fine Arts Center.
12. Become a leader or help identify future leaders for our
Alumni
Board, Fine Arts Board, Athletic Foundation and other volunteer
councils/organizations.
13. Remember Wingate in your
will and estate plans.
14. Contact a former professor and say thanks for their teaching and
influence on your life.
15. Encourage friends and classmates to attend
Homecoming and class
reunion events. Assist with the planning of your class reunion.
16. Attend or host an alumni event or gathering in your area, and
encourage others to come.
17. Be sure to register with the
Online Alumni Community to receive
your permanent email forwarding address, access the alumni
directory, post or read Class Notes, and update any of your personal
information.
18. Identify potential university donors for scholarships, athletic
gifts, endowments, and naming opportunities.
19. Help the Alumni Office to locate “lost” alums and encourage your
classmates to keep their records up to date.
20. Be sure your local high school and its counselors are well
informed about Wingate University. Contact our
Admissions Office if
you need information packets for prospective students or general
information.
