Alumni Trip: The Passion Play 2010
10 Days in Switzerland, Italy, Austria and Germany
Hosted by Wingate University President Jerry E. McGee

June 7-16, 2010
$4,999.00 from Charlotte

Starting in 2010, Wingate University will offer overseas excursions for alumni and friends. We are excited to provide you with opportunities to travel abroad as part of the Wingate family.

Join Wingate University President Jerry E. McGee for a trip to the German village of Oberammergau to witness the Passion Play. Based on the life of Christ, the play was first performed in the 17th century following an outbreak of bubonic plague which killed nearly 15,000 nearby Munich residents in 1634-1635 alone. The people of Oberammergau prayed to be spared and vowed that the entire community would take part in a passion play, the most sacred of all stories, every 10 years. The tradition has continued to this day.

Spots are available for as many as 40 alumni and friends interested in making the trip. The itinerary is planned by Wilcox Travel (www.wilcoxtravel.com).
