Be a Wingate University Gatekeeper!

Wingate University Gatekeepers stay at their post—literally. Consistent. Reliable. Faithful. Like all gatekeepers through history who ensured safe passage from one dimension to another, Gatekeepers support, sustain and guide the Wingate experience year in and year out. Alumni, students, parents and friends of Wingate who contribute two or more consecutive years are Gatekeepers. It is fitting that the Wingate University Gate, a gift to the college from the Class of 1924, is the symbolic reminder of the ongoing generosity of Wingate’s most consistent donors.

Membership in the Wingate Gatekeepers requires donors to have made gifts in the most recent of two consecutive academic years (2007-08 and 2008-09). The current 2008-09 academic year ends May 31, 2009. We welcome anyone to join - alumni and other friends of Wingate. Your gift may be to the Annual Fund or to any giving program, endowed scholarship, school, academic program or department of the university or athletics. 

To begin your Gatekeeper membership in academic year 2008-09, simply give in any amount to any Wingate fund prior to May 31, 2009. There is no minimum gift to begin and continue your membership.

At the end of each academic year, all Gatekeepers will receive a car decal with an acknowledgment from the president of their important role in Wingate’s growth and development. Gatekeepers will be recognized in the annual Donor Report to include the number of consecutive years they have supported Wingate. With this recognition comes the satisfaction of helping the university provide a personal pathway to significance for each of our students in knowledge, faith and service.
