The Student Government Association (SGA) of Wingate University will strive to uphold the mission statement of Wingate by maintaining a spirit that reflects the thoughts and values of the student body; cultivating diversity while striving to find excellence and knowledge in each aspect of the institution; and by guiding and motivating the students to provide a service by being role models and leaders of the Wingate Community.
SGA serves the student body in three areas of focus:
1. Represent the student voice to the University administration, faculty and staff.
2. Provide guidance and oversight of student fees and resources.
3. Provide governance of student issues and rights.
The Bulldog Activities Resource Committee (BARC) distributes the portion of the Student Government Association fees designated for campus programming. The primary purpose of this committee is to increase student engagement and leadership in campus programming by providing the funding and oversight necessary for success.
