Information Session on Local Internships and Career Opportunities within the FBI

Although most widely known for the FBI Special Agent position, the FBI offers a variety of career opportunities for a wide range of professionals. Because of the breadth and scope of the FBI's mission, they employ professionals in fields as varied as intelligence analysis, laboratory sciences, linguistics, security, information technology, and human resources, to name just a few.
Bio of Presenter: Special Agent; Newsom Summerlin entered on duty with the FBI as a Special Agent in February 1983; and since that date, SA Summerlin has served in numerous field offices: Atlanta, GA; Las Vegas, NV; New York City; Tupelo, MS; Guam; and most recently, Charlotte, NC. Prior to his arrival in Charlotte, SA Summerlin primarily worked criminal matters, including violent crimes, white-collar crimes, organized crime, drugs, and civil rights. Following his arrival in Charlotte, SA Summerlin worked counterintelligence matters. On 01/30/2012, SA Summerlin assumed the position of Applicant Coordinator for the Charlotte Division of the FBI and coordinates the recruiting and hiring in North Carolina of Special Agents and Professional Staff for the FBI. Prior to joining the FBI, SA Summerlin received his B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University, New York, NY, and his law degree from the Emory University School of Law, Atlanta, GA. SA Summerlin is a member of the Georgia Bar and briefly practiced law before joining the FBI.
