Since its beginnings in 1896, Wingate University has relied on the generosity of donors making a substantial gift to the institution. Such major gifts have enabled the university to prosper and grow to the point that a Wingate education is second to none.

Now, more than ever, Wingate needs a variety of major gifts to assist us in our mission to continue providing a first class education to students who need financial assistance and for opportunities to grow and learn beyond the classroom.

Since Wingate is a private institution and receives no federal or state monies, we depend on alumni and friends to help us in striving to be the best small private university in North Carolina.

We are always eager to visit personally with prospective donors to share our vision for all aspects of the university to anyone who is interested in starting an endowed scholarship, make an in kind gift or consider gifting a naming opportunity for some of our fine facilities.
