The Porter B. Byrum School of Business
The Master of Accounting (MAC) program is designed as a fifth year master's degree which will prepare students for the Certified Public Accountant exam and fulfill the accounting profession's 150 hour requirement to be licensed as a CPA. Qualified Wingate students can enter the program immediately upon completion of their undergraduate degree studies. The program is designed so that students who have an undergraduate degree in a field other than accounting can enter the program upon completion of certain prerequisite courses.
Faculty…Courses are taught by Wingate University's distinguished School of Business Accounting faculty who are CPAs. The faculty has a wide variety of relevant accounting experience including business owners, CFOs, Big 4 partners in international accounting firms, tax attorneys and the Dean of the Business School. All are deeply committed to students and the accounting field engaging in scholarly endeavors.
Classroom Experience…The small class sizes provide students the opportunity to participate in an active learning environment. Students in the research class engage in identifying primary source material that develops their research skills similar to the CPA exam. An accounting lab allows students to enhance their knowledge of core accounting learning outcomes.
