Dr. Crawford first came to Wingate in 1988 and remained for 13 years. He returned to the faculty in 2008. While away from Wingate he spent 3 years on the faculty at Catawba College and founded Ascendant Small Cap Fund, which he continues to serve as managing partner. He also served as a partner in the accounting firm Crawford & Graham. Dr. Crawford earned his B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from UNCC, and his Ph.D. from Clemson University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Richard Hutaff is an adjunct professor and teaches the Advanced Entity Taxation course in the MAC program. Professor Hutaff is a partner in the Love & Hutaff law firm in Monroe, NC. In addition to 18 years practicing as an attorney, he also spent 15 years in public accounting, at BDO/Seidman, and as a partner at Potter & Company. After completing his B.A. at North Carolina State University, and his J.D. at Samford University, Professor Hutaff earned a Masters of Law in Taxation (L.L.M.) at the University of Miami. He is licensed as a CPA in North Carolina.

Professor Threatt joined Wingate as an adjunct professor in 2004 and was given a full-time appointment in 2007. He entered academia after a distinguished career in business, including Audit Manager at KPMG, and many years as an executive in commercial real estate in Florida, with positions at the Executive Vice-President and CFO level. He is licensed as a CPA in the state of Florida. Professor Threatt earned his B.S.B.A. from the University of Florida and his M.B.A. from Emory University.

Professor Watkins joined Wingate as a full-time faculty member in 2011, after enjoying a successful 22 year career in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche, including his last 9 years as a partner. Among his assignments with Deloitte was a 3 year stint as an audit partner in Budapest, Hungary. During his time overseas he trained audit professionals for Deloitte throughout Central Europe. Professor Watkins earned 2 B.A. degrees from North Carolina State University and his masters in accounting from UNCC. He is currently a doctoral candidate with Northcentral University. He is licensed as a CPA in North Carolina.
