Course Description:
Successful HR executives must learn how to be strategic in their approach to human resource initiatives. A key skill necessary is making the business case. This seminar will discuss this and other key skills needed by the HR professional in order to be a valuable strategic player on their organization's management team.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • In the current ever-changing business climate, HR managers need to adopt a strategic approach, be part of the top management team, be involved in corporate planning and develop a vision for HRM.
  • HRM activities must be part of a coordinated effort to improve the productive contribution of people in meeting the organization’s strategic business objectives.
  • Inability to do so by making the business case means that the organization will ultimately stagnate and fail.

FUNDAMENTALS
 OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Course Description:
This 2-day continuing education course will focus on the role of the project manager and the specific processes required for successful outcomes in managing projects.  In today’s competitive and global environment, the ability to successfully complete projects within the constraints of time, scope, quality, and cost is absolutely vital to any organization. The success or failure of projects directly affects profitability, competitive standing, and even survival of the organization. 

The objective of this course is to familiarize you with the Project Management Institute’s (PMI®) methodology and approach to project management, as supported by PMI’s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge, PMBOK® Guide, 5th edition.  Course content has been reviewed and validated by PMI. Upon completion, participants involved with PMI and related certifications (PMP®, CAPM®) will receive 14 PDU’s.  
 
This course will take place at Wingate University's state-of-the-art Ballantyne campus in the Ballantyne Corporate Park. Lunch is included.
