H1N1 (SWINE FLU) CENTRAL
|
In an effort to minimize the spread of the flu virus, Wingate
University has adapted a response protocol consistent with
recommendations for college campuses from the Center for Disease
Control and Prevention. This protocol includes the isolation of
students, faculty and staff showing flu-like symptoms in order to
limit community exposure. These steps are meant to limit the impact
of the flu season on the Wingate campus.
Preventative steps you can take
With the 2009-2010 flu season quickly approaching, the Wingate
University Health Clinic would like to remind all
students, faculty and staff to practice these basic steps to
prevent the spread of germs:
Practice good hand hygiene - wash your hands with soap and
warm water frequently.
Cover your mouth and nose when you cough and sneeze - use
your elbow when a tissue is not available.
Visit the University Health Clinic at the first sign of
flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, sweating, runny nose, body aches,
headaches, diarrhea, vomiting).
Report any off-campus flu diagnosis to the University Health
Clinic as soon as possible.
For more information on Wingate University's flu protocol, please

concerning the flu visit
