SECOND LEADERSHIP YEAR
 |
The
second
year of
Leadership Fellows
includes two 1
credit leadership development courses. The courses are designed to
provide students with the
historical,
theoretical, and
practical
everyday life perspectives of leadership, as well as engage students
in fully exploring
themselves
and their leadership
style. This is
accomplished through lecture/discussion format and small group
experiential activities. The course objectives are:
• To understand the historical and theoretical
practice of leadership;
• To develop a personal awareness of leadership ability and receive
feedback from others about their
perceptions of your leadership effectiveness;
• To consider the ethical responsibilities of leadership;
• To explore critical thinking and decision making strategies;
• To gain an understanding of team development and conflict
resolution;
• To understand and apply diversity into leadership; and
• To expand the conception of leadership and learn to apply theories
of leadership to everyday practice.
