Global Connections

Purpose

The purpose of the Global Connections Community is to heighten student awareness of diversity and inclusion throughout our campus and the world. Student will be exposed to programming that helps them see the advantage of diversity. Students will learn to embrace diversity while encouraging a diverse environment and exemplifying respect for each others differences.

Mission

The mission of the Global Connections Living and Learning Community is to create a multicultural campus community that hopes to inspire and educate students while enhancing the appreciation and awareness of diversity.

Goals

• Integrate freshman into the Wingate University community through the exposure of diverse interactions.
• Educate freshman about world events.
• Create and maintain a environment that supports open dialog.
• To prepare all students to function effectively in an evolving, pluralistic, and increasingly diverse society.
• To provide co-curricular programs and training opportunities to increase intercultural competence among Wingate students.
• Assist students in expanding their professional and life skills through community engagement.

Outcomes

• Increase awareness of campus diversity
