GREEK LIFE

The Wingate University Greek Community offers opportunities for leadership development, community service, academic achievement, and social interaction.

Currently there are four fraternities: Delta Sigma Phi (ΔΣΦ); Kappa Alpha Order (ΚΑ); Phi Beta Sigma (ΦΒΣ); and Pi Kappa Phi (ΠKΦ). There are also four sororities: Alpha Xi Delta (AΞΔ); Chi Omega (ΧΩ); Sigma Sigma Sigma (ΣΣΣ); and Zeta Phi Beta (ΖΦΒ)

The Wingate Panhellenic community consisting of Alpha Xi Delta, Chi Omega, and Sigma Sigma Sigma will conduct Formal Recruitment; October 2-5, 2008. Registration will open on June 1, 2008, follow the Panhellenic Council Link for more details.

The Wingate Interfraternity community consisting of Delta Sigma Phi, Kappa Alpha, and Pi Kappa Phi will conduct Formal Recruitment from September 29 to October 3, 2008. Registration will open on June 1, 2008, follow the Interfraternity Council Link for more details.

Wingate University REQUIRES all students (first-year; upperclassmen; & transfers) have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher in order to participate in the Recruitment/Initiation process. Transcripts are required to be filed in the Office of Greek Life in order to make Recruitment Applications official.

Phi Beta Sigma and Zeta Phi Beta operate under a different system for membership. Their recruitment process is referred to as Intake. Individuals must have a 2.5 GPA based on at least 12 Wingate credits to be initiated into either of these organizations.
