Do I have to have a lap top?

No - all computers need an Ethernet card for DSL service

When will I get class registration information?

Packets are being sent out on a continuous basis during the summer.

Living on Campus

What size sheets should I bring?

Standard twin (we have no extra long beds)

 

Does Wingate provide refrigerators for each room?

No, however, students may bring mini refrigerators that are under 4.0 cubic feet.

 

Can I move in early?

No, residence halls open August 22 which is move-in day.

 

When will I get roommate information?

Mid July.

 

Can I bring a pet?

Fish or small turtles in an aquarium under 5 gallons are the only pets that are allowed.

 

Can I change rooms?

Yes, during the designated room change period only, typically 2 to 3 weeks into each semester.

 

Can I have a car on campus?

Yes.

 

Where do I park?

Designated lots are assigned by the residence hall / apartment in which you live. You will receive a parking ticket if you do not register and display your parking sticker or if you park in the wrong lot/space.

 

Orientation

Do I have to attend all scheduled events during orientation?

YES!!

 

Should my parents attend all parent sessions during orientation?

YES, parents should try to attend as many parent sessions as possible.
