The entry-level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) degree is 8 consecutive semesters. The profession of occupational therapy is highly skilled and technical, requiring a rigorous academic preparation. Wingate University OTD students will be provided with clinical education opportunities beginning in the second semester of the program. The inaugural cohort will graduate in May of 2022.
Wingate University offers an add-on licensure program for school administration. Our add-on licensure for school administration is designed to prepare teachers who hold a master’s degree in education and a North Carolina “M” license to become principals.
Wingate University offers two master’s level programs for Elementary Education teachers. The Master of Arts in Teaching degree is designed for students with a bachelor’s degree in any content area but who do not hold a teaching license. The Master of Arts in Education in Elementary Education provides advanced study for Elementary Education teachers who already have an initial licensure.
Students who wish to pursue a professional career in business choose the experiential-focused Master of Arts in Accounting (MAC) degree. Housed with the Porter B. Byrum School of Business, located on the Wingate, NC campus, this program is designed for those who look to become financial executives.
The Doctor of Education in Higher Education Executive Leadership program is designed for current teachers and administrators who want to become community college, four year college, and university executives and leaders.
The oldest of the graduate degree programs, Wingate University serves students who are pursuing advanced degrees in teaching and leadership. Recognizing that the majority of our students are working adults, classes meet either on weekends or weeknights on the Wingate campus. Small group, discussion-focused classes ensure individual attention from faculty who are active within the profession.
Designed for adult students in the Charlotte area, our MBA program prepares you for a career in business. Students are offered a choice of five concentration areas to develop specialized career skills and knowledge. A real-world focus means a curriculum that leverages case study analysis and practical applications to understand the challenges of business in the 21st century.
The four year doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) program is offered at the Wingate and Hendersonville campuses. Our pharmacist education focuses on providing students with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism that one needs to practice in any healthcare setting and address the needs of any patient. Students learn in the classroom and then immediately apply that knowledge in a real-life clinical experiences.
The doctoral degree program in physical therapy is a three-year program offered on the Wingate campus. The experiential approach includes a dedicated Human Anatomy Lab and 38 weeks of hands-on training in a variety of clinical settings.
The Physician Assistant Studies program is a continuous 27-month master’s degree program leading to the MPAS degree. Students may apply for admission to either the Hendersonville or the Wingate campus program. Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the PANCE. Our five-year, first-time taker pass rate regularly surpasses the national average.
