We’ve heard it countless times from returning students: “Study abroad changed my life!” We believe them. Whether you want to develop your intercultural skills for your career or simply want to add cultural awareness to your resume, you’ll find the right program for you at Wingate University.
Wingate University offers Wingate International Grant for Students (WINGS) to support study abroad. Federal and Wingate University financial assistance may apply for international study. Individual programs and organizations may also offer scholarships and grants to qualified individuals.
* WINGS grants are no longer available for travel through April 30, 2018 as all funds have been distributed.
From arrival to graduation, Wingate University's Office of International Programs helps you navigate the American college experience. Our staff is here to help you stay informed about US immigration regulations so that you can better focus on being an involved student on campus.
Faculty and staff at Wingate are encouraged to be a part of the global opportunities available through the Office of International Programs. Full-time Faculty are invited to submit proposals for W'International programs each year, and programs are selected by the International Studies Committee. Faculty interested in submitting a W'International proposal should contact Jennifer Armentrout at firstname.lastname@example.org. Staff are encouraged to get internationally involved through our programming efforts, particularly during International Education Week.
OIP seeks to enhance the internationalization of Wingate's campus through intentional and interesting programming efforts. Our largest international programming events occur each year during International Education Week, a nationally-celebrated week that highlights the importance of cultural and educational exchange. Examples of programs we've hosted during IEW, observed in November, include an annual International Photo Contest, guest speakers, collaborations with student organizations, international-focused Lyceums, and study abroad information sessions. Other programming throughout the year may include international student events, W'International and study abroad events, and country or region-specific celebrations.
