Vocation across the Academy
Wingate University has received a grant in partnership with NetVUE to implement Vocation Across the Academy.
Wingate University will develop a common language and shared tools to meet the diverse needs of students, faculty, and staff as they strive to find and renew their calling. This will allow vocational discernment to be scalable across the academy and easily applied through programs, workshops, and courses such that it permeates the Wingate experience. Implementation will range from intensive and immersive experiences to simple tools to foster guided discussions, all of which will contribute to the broader vision of a purposeful life. Specific focus will be placed on the sophomore experience as this is a pivotal time in a student’s academic trajectory.

Create opportunities for sophomore students to meaningfully reflect on their interests, skills, and greater purpose in life. Finding vocation by asking...
What am I good at?
What do I love?
What does the world need me to do?
Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life; everyone must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated. Thus, everyone's task is unique as is his specific opportunity to implement it.Viktor Frankl
