Fullbright Grant
Are you interested in teaching, studying, or conducting research in another country? Then you should apply for a Fulbright Grant!
Since 1946, the Fulbright program has facilitated academic exchange beyond borders and oceans; currently, Fulbright partners with over 160 countries. Students who teach, study, or research through the Fulbright program have life-changing personal and professional experiences while positively contributing to amicable and peaceful relationships between the United States and other countries.
Fulbright Awards typically last 9-12 months. Participants receive airfare, some health insurance coverage, and a stipend related to the cost of living in the host country. Study or Research Award winners might also receive additional funds to cover language study, tuition, books, and research activities.
Types of Awards
Open Study/Research Award
This award allows you to conduct independent research or study internationally. Requirements vary by country.
English Teaching Assistant Award
This award allows you to work in a classroom, helping students improve their English language skills and knowledge of the United States while at the same time you improve your language skills in their language and learn about their country.
Eligibility
Fulbright Student Grants are designed to take place after a student has completed their undergraduate degree. Wingate seniors and alumni are eligible to apply for the grant; junior students are welcome to attend information sessions as they consider whether or not to pursue this opportunity. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
