Welcome to the Wingate University Department of Music! We celebrate both our rich tradition of music-making and our important work of cultivating leaders in the field of music. As we recognize our student's diverse backgrounds, gifts and talents, we guide them to excel in all that they do. Wingate University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), and is widely recognized as one of the finest programs among liberal arts universities in the Southeast. Our students and ensembles have performed at state (NCMEA), regional (ACDA) and national (CBDNA) conferences. We have 100% job placement for our music education graduates, and many of our graduates have continued on to graduate school, including such esteemed programs as Carnegie Mellon, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Eastman School of Music, East Carolina University, The Florida State University, The Juilliard School, Louisiana State University, North Carolina Central University, The Ohio State University, and the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, University of Kentucky, University of Maryland College Park, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and the University of South Carolina at Columbia.
