Pharmacy Advantage

What are the benefits?

  • Guaranteed assurance to the Doctor of Pharmacy program if Advantage Program admission and progression requirements are met.
  • Priority scheduling for admissions interview.
  • Access to Doctor of Pharmacy faculty, admissions staff, and current pharmacy students.
  • Successful candidates can earn a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in as few as six years (two years of pre-pharmacy study and four years in the School of Pharmacy program).

To qualify for the Pharmacy Advantage Program, candidates must meet the following criteria: 

  • Acceptance to Wingate University
  • High school academic success, including at least two of the three requirements:
    • Unweighted GPA of at least 3.4
    • Weighted GPA of at least 3.6
    • SAT math score of at least 550 or ACT score of at least 22.

To complete admission to the Doctor of Pharmacy program you are required to:

  • Submit PharmCAS application 1 year prior to enrollment in the professional program
  • Successful progression in the program.
  • Successful completion of the interview process.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Agree to and meet professional technical standards.

To continue enrollment in the program and to be accepted to the professional phase of the School of Pharmacy program, you must meet/maintain the following criteria: 

  • Maintain a minimum prerequisite GPA of a 3.0 or higher.
  • Meet once a semester with the School of Pharmacy admissions counselor.
  • Active involvement with the Pre-Pharmacy club.
  • Successful completion of an interview.
  • Complete a criminal background check.
  • Agree to and meet professional technical standards.
