Auditions will open October 1.

Audition Fee is $10 per student. The link to submit payment will be in the registration confirmation email, please submit payment directly after registering.

All student information and recordings is to be submitted through the form below.

Deadline for audition is November 1st, 11:59 PM.

Results will be posted online & emailed to teachers by November 30th.

Registration Fee for students who are accepted is $40. This includes Friday dinner, Saturday lunch, and a t-shirt.

There is no limit to the number of auditions a school can submit. Accepted students will be limited to a maximum 10 students per school per choir.

NEW THIS YEAR, accepted students will need to register by December 20 to participate. If you/your students need an extended deadline because of your school’s exams/winter break timeline, please email music@wingate.edu by December 13.

Auditions are graded by Wingate Voice and Choral Faculty.

Please record in MP3 file format.

Begin your recording by stating your first and last name as well as your voice part. For each of the following numbers, you may give yourself the first pitch before singing a cappella.

Sing an arpeggio (Do-Mi-Sol-Do-Sol-Mi-Do) on solfege syllables or a neutral syllable using the keys designated below for each voice part. If singing on a neutral syllable, bee/[bi] is suggested for Alto, Tenor, and Bass, while doh/[do] is suggested for Soprano.
- Soprano I: G
- Soprano II: E-flat
- Alto I: C
- Alto II: B-flat
- Tenor I: E
- Tenor II: D
- Baritone: C
- Bass: B-flat

Sing an ascending and descending major scale on solfege syllables or a neutral syllable in the same designated keys for each voice part in #3.

Sing the Happy Birthday song in the following keys:

Soprano I: Key of C, starts on G and highest note is G

Soprano II: Key of Ab, starts E-flat and highest note is E-flat

Alto I: Key of F, starts on C and highest note is C

Alto II: Key of Eb, starts on B-flat and highest note is B-flat

Tenor I: Key of A, starts on E and highest note is E

Tenor II: Key of G, starts on D and highest note is D

Baritone: Key of F, starts on C and highest note is C
