FALL 2018 COMMENCEMENT

Wingate University Fall 2018 Commencement will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 9 a.m. It is held in the Austin Auditorium on the Wingate campus.  Seating is limited, so graduates must contact the Registrar’s Office at commencement@wingate.edu or 704-233-8393 regarding tickets.  A live feed and overflow seating will be available in McGee Theater in the Batte Center.  A reception in the Batte Rotunda will follow the ceremony.

SPRING COMMENCEMENT 2019

Wingate University now has two Commencement ceremonies in the spring–one for Graduate level programs and the other for Undergraduates.

  • Graduate degree candidates will celebrate their graduation on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.
  • The Undergraduate ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 9 a.m.

Tickets are not required. Seating is first-come, first-serve. Reserved seating for faculty, administrators, trustees, graduating students and special needs guests is marked with gold ribbons.

Both ceremonies are held outdoors on the Academic Quadrangle. If heavy rain, thunder or other adverse weather occurs, commencement will be held indoors in Cuddy Arena.

MEETING SPECIAL NEEDS FOR SPRING COMMENCEMENT

We do not designate one area for special needs because all seating in the Academic Quadrangle is accessible. The graduation ceremony seats are folding chairs and are easily moved for different seating needs. Shade is limited, so plan to arrive early to obtain seats in the shaded areas. A live video feed is available in Austin Auditorium for overflow guests who prefer to sit indoors.
