About
2024 Clinicians
Dr. Danté S. Webb, native of Memphis, Tennessee, is a charismatic music educator, conductor, and clinician. He is the Associate Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education at Wingate University, where he conducts the Advanced Treble Ensemble and Cantar (tenor-bass ensemble). In addition to his conducting duties at the university, he teaches undergraduate courses in choral conducting and music education.
A native Kansan, Christy Elsner is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Allegro Choirs of Kansas City. Under her direction since 2000, the premier auditioned youth choir program has grown from one choir of 38 to five choirs with over 200 singers. Heralded as “the voice of angels” by the Kansas City Star, Allegro inspires thousands of audience members each year with its varied repertoire, technical excellence, and heartfelt singing.
Our History
The North Carolina Summer Institute in Choral Art began in 1951, and for the first 31 years, Dr. Lara Hoggard from UNC Chapel Hill was the music director. NCSICA takes pride in providing our students with experiences from nationally and internationally recognized clinicians.
